Our boys attended Casuarina from Peach Blossom to Year 6, over a period 10 years. Our time at the school was the beginning of ongoing friendships with children, families and staff. The oldest classmates are now turning 16 and it is wonderful to see these that these young adults have retained that special sense of trust and respect that comes from shared experiences in a safe and nurturing environment. We watch their inner strength shine through as they pursue their interests in the arts, science and sports.
We were new to Steiner education back in 2008. The more we discovered, the more we liked. Not only was the content of the curriculum clearly explained, but the reasons why, and when, things were taught were soundly based. The classrooms, gardens and grounds were all designed to support growth and learning. An oasis of tranquillity in our busy lives; a place where the children always came first. No wonder they didn’t want to leave at the end of the day!
If you are considering schooling options for young children, we strongly recommend a visit to Casuarina. It’s a wonderful place. You just might have trouble leaving at the end of the day.
Casuarina is a school where students learn in a productive way. I must start with how I didn’t want to leave because I had such a wonderful teacher who was always making the class laugh and teaching us new useful skills. The amount of knowledge I took with me into High School was massive, I could read, write do maths, crafts and also learn how to make good friends. In the playground there were swings, climbing frames, monkey bars and who knows what other time consuming things, life was just so good. The whole class learnt a lot of interesting things about each other, we were one big family. The most exciting part for me was starting to learn the violin at the end of year three. I have continued playing ever since year three, learning new skills and pieces I had never even heard of before. The opportunities I had when I had joined High School were so big, and with my knowledge I easily fitted in with the rest of my class, thanks to all the things I had learnt at Casuarina. So if I must say, Casuarina was one of the most wonderful experiences of my life, and I will never, ever forget it!
The best decision a parent can make is to send their child to a Steiner School. Casuarina is the foundation of who I am today, without it I would be a very different person. The things I learnt and the experiences I had there have set me up for life. Margie, my class teacher, gave me the passion I have for learning. She inspired me, and taught me to be the best version of myself. I will always remember my days at Casuarina fondly, for they are some of the best memories I have.
